Germany ISI-SYS-SE2 Composite Material Laser Speckle Nondestructive Testing Instrument

The SE2 shear interference non-destructive testing system launched by the German company ISI-SYS is a non-destructive testing system that uses non-contact measurement, mainly used to detect the non-uniformity of internal structural defects in composite materials, such as delamination, debonding, and inclusions. The displayed non-uniformity can be marked with a mouse to determine the lateral size of the apparent defects and their position in the measurement field of view, making it a high-tech quantitative detection method that meets the demands for high precision and rapid detection, allowing for sampling in the laboratory as well as testing during the production process or on finished products.

This measurement technology uses laser to illuminate the surface of the material, and after laterally displacing the reflected wavefront by a certain amount, it performs self-interference with the unshifted wavefront, forming interference fringes. The surface of the material can undergo slight deformation through thermal loading, vacuum loading, and vibrational loading. When the tested material experiences phenomena such as cracking, peeling, internal inclusions, dents, compression, or delamination in multi-layer materials, the interference pattern will show local discontinuities, indicating that the surface deformation of the material is locally non-uniform, thus locking in the defect's position and size.

1) Thermal Loading

The thermal loading unit system can be installed on the speckle probe tripod.
