ISI-SYS Company in Germany SE2 Composite Material Laser Speckle Nondestructive Testing Instrument

The SE2 shear interference non-destructive testing system launched by the German company ISI-SYS is a non-destructive testing system that uses non-contact measurement, mainly used to detect the non-uniformity of internal structural defects in composite materials, such as delamination, debonding, and inclusions. The displayed non-uniformity can be marked with a mouse to determine the lateral size of the apparent defects and their position in the measurement field of view, making it a high-tech quantitative detection method that meets the demands for high precision and rapid detection, applicable for both laboratory sampling of products and testing during the production process or on finished products.
This measurement technology uses laser to illuminate the material surface, and after laterally displacing the reflected wavefront by a certain amount, it performs self-interference with the unshifted wavefront, forming interference fringes. The material surface can undergo slight deformation through thermal load, vacuum load, and vibration load. When the tested material experiences phenomena such as cracking, peeling, internal inclusions, dents, compression, or delamination in multi-layer materials, the interference pattern will show local discontinuities, indicating local non-uniform deformation of the material surface, thus locking in the defect's position and size.
Manufacturer's introduction:
The German company ISI-SYS is one of the earliest companies to research Shearography technology. The company was founded by highly innovative mechanical, electrical, and software engineers from the Mechanical Design Institute of the University of Kassel, Germany. The team has 30 years of experience in the research and development and manufacturing of aerospace engineering equipment, specializing in analyzing customer measurement needs and providing satisfactory solutions. They have decades of experience in manufacturing non-destructive testing instruments, and their laser speckle detection instrument SE series complies with relevant ISO international standards. All measurement units involved in the equipment system use the International System of Units (SI) standards and meet the current valid certification requirements of ASTM E2581 and BSS 7057.
Technical principles:
Based on the laser speckle effect that occurs when laser illuminates a rough surface; the principle of light interference; phase shift technology and fringe opening technology for automatic analysis of the collected information.
Product features:
The system is efficient and flexible.
Integrates thermal loading, vacuum loading, and dynamic loading; dynamic loading can achieve time-averaged interference and stroboscopic synchronization functions.
1) Thermal loading
The thermal loading unit system can be installed on the speckle probe tripod.
Advantages of remote monitoring for thermal loading:
The time of thermal loading can be remotely controlled, and the halogen lamp can be controlled (flood light).
Automatic collection mode at different time intervals. Combined collection images.

2) Vacuum loading
The SE system will be equipped with a vacuum loading unit and corresponding control software, allowing direct computer control of the vacuum chamber's pressure, as well as remote button control. The user interface or control buttons allow for quick and direct start and pause of test control. SE-Control routine tests can adjust different pressures. It can also be operated via a touchscreen placed on top of the vacuum chamber.

3) Vibration loading
Signal generator (can automatically perform frequency sweeping and single frequency excitation).
Time-averaged (interference) method (for online vibration phase detection - no frequency limitation).
Triggering, synchronization mode (frequency analysis, phase delay, pulse width, etc.).
Dynamic real-time observation for periodic vibrations.
Automatic photo capture for vibration measurement.
Assessing the amplitude of defects.

4) High resolution and sensitivity:
5 million pixel CCD, 10nm phase reconstruction.
5) Suitable for engineering applications:
Lightweight, portable, suitable for complex environments and online, offline detection of internal defects in composite materials for aircraft, yachts, wind turbine blades, pressure vessels, etc.

6) Vacuum cover with automatic control interface.
7) Automatic photo magnification correction can achieve defect size measurement.
8) Defect depth measurement.

9) isi-Studio SDK open-source software interface, facilitating academic and corporate self-development of post-processing.
