PMLAB DIC-3D Pro Non-contact DIC Strain Measurement System

The PMLAB DIC-3D Pro system uses a non-contact optical measurement method to accurately measure the spatial three-dimensional coordinates of objects, as well as data such as displacement and strain under load. Its application range includes: object surface profile measurement (three-dimensional coordinates, morphology measurement, reverse engineering, etc.), material performance testing (Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, elastoplasticity, etc.), vibration mode analysis testing (steady-state vibration, non-steady-state vibration), high-speed deformation testing (explosion, impact, and other high-speed tests), fatigue and fracture testing (fatigue, crack growth, etc.), residual stress analysis, biomechanics testing (blood vessels, muscles, bones), and FLC forming limit curve determination.
Measurement Principle:

The PMLAB DIC-3D system uses two cameras based on the principle of binocular stereo vision and employs a three-dimensional digital image correlation method to measure the three-dimensional morphology of the surface of the object being tested and the three-dimensional deformation field under load. The main principles are as follows: calibrate the binocular camera system using a verified calibration board to obtain the internal and external parameters of the two cameras; use correlation matching algorithms to obtain the disparity of corresponding points in the images collected by the left and right cameras, and reconstruct the three-dimensional morphology of the object's surface from the disparity data of each point in the images and the pre-obtained calibration parameters; by comparing the changes in the three-dimensional morphology of each point in the measurement area under load, obtain the full-field three-dimensional displacement distribution and strain distribution of the object being tested.

System Advantages:
1. Non-contact three-dimensional coordinate, displacement, and strain measurement
The PMLAB DIC-3D uses a non-contact optical measurement method to measure the three-dimensional deformation of the specimen's surface. By calculation, it can obtain the displacement and strain parameters of every point on the specimen's surface without the need to install any sensors, avoiding measurement errors introduced by human factors when using traditional methods.
2. No on-site calibration required
For users with fixed measurement fields, the PMLAB DIC-3D Pro III system is introduced, which does not require on-site calibration. The system uses the PM-P portable measurement head, which is designed for specific measurement fields and ensures measurement accuracy without on-site calibration.
3. Multiple measurement modes and functions
The PMLAB DIC-3D has two measurement modes for different application environments: two-dimensional measurement mode and three-dimensional measurement mode; it can achieve: video extensometer function, FLC forming limit curve function.
4. Meets various testing environments
The PMLAB DIC-3D uses a non-contact optical full-field measurement method, requiring no installation of any sensors, suitable for high-temperature testing environments and dynamic testing environments.
5. User programmable control of the image acquisition process
The PMLAB DIC-3D provides a programmable control module for the image acquisition process according to different acquisition needs. Users can control the image acquisition process through parameters such as time, external load, temperature, and displacement, making the entire image acquisition process controllable and programmable.
6. Trigger acquisition device
The PMLAB DIC-3D uses a self-developed PM-TC trigger acquisition device to control the trigger synchronization between multiple cameras; at the same time, it supports data communication of analog and digital signals with external devices.
